Brandon Victor Dixon

Tony Award Nominee Brandon Victor Dixon, having just recently finished creating the role of Berry Gordy in Motown The Musical on Broadway, is delighted to make his West End debut in Kander and Ebb’s The Scottsboro Boys.

A Presidential Scholar Semi-finalist and scholarship winner at the British Academy of Dramatic Acting in Oxford, Brandon is a graduate of Columbia University and a recipient of the University’s I.A.L Diamond Award for Achievement in the Arts, which is an honor he shares with Tony Kushner (Angels in America), Jeanine Tesori (Caroline, or Change) and Katori Hall (Mountaintop).

Since his professional debut, originating the role of Adult Simba in The Lion King National Tour (Cheetah), Brandon has displayed his diverse abilities in a number of roles. Notably, he was nominated for a Tony Award for his role as Harpo in Broadway’s The Color Purple, Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, and AUDELCO awards for his outstanding portrayal of Haywood Patterson in the original production of The Scottsboro Boys, and most recently, he was nominated for a Drama League Award for his portrayal of Berry Gordy,

In the past two years, Brandon has spent his time performing in new pieces such as Indomitable: James Brown (The Music, The Man) a concert piece on the life of James Brown developed in conjuction with Patricia McGregor (Hurt Village) and Burnt Sugar: The Arkestra Chamber, and performing in concerts and benefits with fellow artists such as Jennifer Hudson, Nathan Lane, Wynton Marsalis, Chita Rivera, Liza Minnelli, Matthew Broderick, David Hyde Pierce, Tony winner Levi Kreis, Three-time Tony Nominee Kelli O’hara, The Voice’s Frenchie Davis, and American Idol’s Ace Young.

His company, WalkRunFly Productions, which he began with Motown choreographer Warren Adams, just recently co-produced Of Mice and Men on Broadway starring James Franco, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch starring Neil Patrick Harris for which they won a Tony Award. Forthcoming projects include Part of the Plan featuring the Music of Dan Fogelberg, and Unchain My Heart: The Ray Charles Musical.

Other Credits include: ABC’s One Life To Live, Law & Order Criminal Intent, and ABC’s The Good Wife. Originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland, Brandon currently resides in New York City and sends love and thanks to his family and friends.

Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo was recently nominated for a 2014 Olivier Award for his performance in the final Kander and Ebb collaboration, The Scottsboro Boys at the Young Vic in London. Colman had reprised the role of ‘Mr. Bones’ that landed him a Tony Award nomination. While in London, he also starred in his award winning solo play A Boy and His Soul at the Tricycle Theatre.

Additional Broadway and Off-Broadway Credits include: Passing Strange, Chicago (as Billy Flynn), The Wiz (Encores!), Blood Knot (The Signature Theatre) and Wild With Happy (The Public).

Film credits include the upcoming Paramount/Plan B Martin Luther King Jr. biopic Selma as Dr. Ralph Abernathy, Lincoln (Steven Spielberg), Lee Daniel’s The Butler, Red Hook Summer (Spike Lee) and Newlyweeds. Mr. Domingo has been honored with an OBIE, Lucille Lortel, GLAAD, Connecticut Critics Circle, Bay Area Theater Critics Circle and Drama League Awards. He has been nominated for the Drama Desk and Fred Astaire Awards. A dramatist, his plays have premiered at the Vineyard, The Public, Theatreworks and Baltimore Centerstage among others.

Julian Glover

Julian Glover trained at RADA, and has had a rich and illustrious stage career. His relationship with the Royal Shakespeare Company dates back to the 1950’s and he has appeared there on many occasions. Productions have included Coriolanus, Henry VI: Parts 1, 2, & 3, The Man of Mode, Subject to Fits, Cousin Vladimir, The Changeling, Julius Caesar, Romeo and Juliet, and the title role in Henry IV: Parts 1 & 2 which earned him the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in 1993. His work at the Old Vic Theatre includes Richard II, The Soldier’s Tale, Hamlet and Prayers of Sherkin. At the National he has appeared in The Voysey Inheritance, Chips with Everything and Jumpers. His West End credits include The Dresser, Macbeth, A Penny for a Song, Phaedre/Britannicus, Waiting for Godot, An Inspector Calls, Cyrano de Bergerac, Never the Sinner, Otherwise Engaged and The Constant Couple.

His extensive film credits include The Young Victoria, Mirrors, Troy, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Cry Freedom, Heat and Dust, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, For Your Eyes Only, Ivanhoe, Quartermass and the Pit and Tom Jones.

He has appeared in countless television series. Most recent credits include Game of Thrones for HBO currently showing on Sky Atlantic, Silent Witness, Trial and Retribution, Waking the Dead and Midsomer Murders. He has also starred in many timeless classics including Dr Who, Z Cars, Bergerac, Lovejoy and Taggart.

Emmanuel trained at the Arts Educational school.
Emmanuel is a recipient of the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Scholarship. He would like to thank the foundation for all the support and opportunity provided throughout his training.

Forrest McClendon

Forrest is a Tony Award® Nominee for his Broadway debut as Mr. Tambo in The Scottsboro Boys directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman, first created at the Vineyard and Guthrie Theaters. Post-Broadway, Forrest received a Barrymore Award for his reprisal of the role at the Philadelphia Theatre Company, and appeared in the award-winning London premiere at the Young Vic.

Most recently, he played Gil in Colman Domingo’s Wild With Happy at Center Stage in Baltimore. Last season, Forrest played Friar Lawrence in Romeo and Juliet at the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, followed by the title roles in Othello at the Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre and Julius Caesar at the Lantern Theater Company.

A recipient of the prestigious Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship, Forrest’s notable regional roles include a B. Iden Payne Award for the Foundling Father in The America Play at Zach Scott Theatre, and a Barrymore Award as Roscoe in Avenue X at 11th Hour Theatre Company.

Forrest also teaches at the Ira Brind School of Theater at the University of the Arts and the Esther Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University.
